Account and learning-data privacy notice
HootBill (hootbill.com) provides account and French exam-practice services. This notice explains how information is handled when you register, request a trial and use speaking-learning features.
Account information
When you sign in with Google, we receive the subject identifier, verified email address, name, optional picture and language information needed for your account. We do not receive your Google password or obtain permission to read Gmail messages or Google Drive files through sign-in.
Learning content and usage
To provide practice, mock exams, reports and review, we process the speech or text you submit, practice progress, attempts, validity periods, reports and feedback. Speech is sent to the relevant voice service for real-time interaction and transcription. Avoid sharing sensitive information unrelated to your practice.
Optional local recording
Local recording is off by default and starts only after you enable it. It captures your microphone, not the AI examiner. This copy stays in the current page’s memory and is not additionally uploaded for server storage. Save it before closing or leaving the page. Data processing needed for the speaking session is separate from this local copy.
Purposes and service notifications
Information is used to verify identity, process trial requests, provide learning features, maintain necessary service records, send application or account-status notifications, investigate problems and prevent abuse. Signing in with Google does not subscribe you to marketing emails. Reports are learning guidance, not official exam results or guarantees.
Browser and technical information
Necessary session information and language preferences support sign-in and page settings. Access times, browser type and necessary security records may also be generated. Refusing a required browser permission may prevent the related feature from working. You can manage microphone permission and site data in your browser settings. Optional website analytics record limited on-site page views and trial-button actions only after your agreement, to understand usage and registration sources. They do not record typed content, raw speech or off-site browsing history. Basic public-page visits are counted separately as anonymous daily totals by page and broad source, without optional analytics. These totals do not retain browser identifiers, IP addresses, accounts, query parameters or full referrer URLs and do not represent unique people. The arrival prompt offers Accept or Decline for site analytics. Google measurement requires a separate choice on this page and is not enabled by Accept. Select Decline all here to stop future optional analytics. This choice is separate from Google sign-in and voice-processing consent; refusing does not affect normal use. Previously formed aggregate statistics are not automatically deleted when future collection stops.
Optional Google Ads website measurement
Only after your separate, explicit agreement do we enable the Google Ads base tag on public home pages to measure website visits. Google may then process cookies, browser information and necessary network information, including the request IP, potentially outside your region. Our integration uses a public-page URL without query parameters or fragments and does not supply raw query parameters, click IDs, names, email addresses, internal account IDs or learning content. We do not configure conversion events, enhanced conversions or personalized advertising for this integration. Google sign-in, voice-processing consent and previous analytics choices do not enable this option. You can withdraw here; reloading the page stops further tag collection. Refusal does not affect normal use or automatically delete data already collected.
Share pages you choose to publish
Creating a share page is optional. Once published, anyone with its link and social-platform preview services can read the product introduction and referral code, but not your name, email, scores or learning reports. You can disable the page. We then stop serving it, but copied text, screenshots and third-party preview caches may remain. Page settings are retained so you can publish again. Disabling a page does not cancel existing referral relationships.
Service providers and processing locations
Identity verification, hosting, data storage, voice and text processing, and email delivery involve relevant service providers. Depending on the services used, processing may occur outside your location. Contact us at the address below for questions about providers, retention or cross-region processing.
Retention and sign-out
Speaking transcripts and report content are generally retained for 30 days and may not be recoverable afterwards. Account information and necessary service records do not currently expire automatically on a fixed date. Signing out ends the current account session but does not immediately delete learning records. Save local recordings yourself.
Your requests and contact
You may request access to, correction of, or information about retention and deletion of your own data. Account identity may need to be verified first. Sending a request does not mean deletion has already occurred. Contact nicoyucn@gmail.com for privacy or account-data questions. Important changes will be communicated on the website or through an appropriate notice.
Additional campaign analytics notice
This section describes new optional purposes. Previous site-only consent does not authorise Google Analytics 4 or advertising sharing. Site analytics and Google analytics are separate choices; ad conversion sharing is currently off. Refusal or withdrawal does not affect sign-in, trial activations or practice. With consent we retain only registered channel, campaign and creative labels plus event times, not raw URLs, click IDs, IP addresses, speech, scores or feedback text. Anonymous landing requests are counts, not unique people. Browser attribution lasts 14 days, detailed attribution 90 days, aggregates 365 days and cost totals 730 days. If enabled, Google processes limited public-page events and necessary network information (including the request IP), potentially outside your region, without names, emails or internal account IDs. Withdrawal stops new optional collection, not automatic deletion of existing aggregates. Update your choices below.
