Separate the official scenario from the practice material
In the FEI public sample, you represent an association that helps pupils in France with homework and speak with someone interested in volunteering. Your job is to ask for information that helps you judge whether the person is suitable. The sample specifically points to experience, training and motivation as useful areas.
This page does not reproduce the full official sheet or claim that the scenario recently appeared in a live test. The questions below are teaching prompts built around the public scenario; your actual exam sheet remains the authority on the day.
Platform practice method
Turn the prompt into an information map
Treat experience, training and motivation as information goals rather than a fixed list of sentences. Experience can lead to a question about similar work and then a follow-up about the people involved, a difficulty or a lesson learned. Training can explore relevant study or experience. Motivation invites the other person to explain why they want to participate.
Do not ask for a fact that the prompt has already supplied. Task 2 is about obtaining information, so use your questions to fill gaps and let the answers influence what comes next.

Original HootBill practice questions
These are not official questions. Pick a few, listen to your partner and change the order when the answer creates a better follow-up.
- Avez-vous déjà aidé des élèves dans leurs devoirs ?
- Start with relevant experience.
- Quelle formation ou quelle expérience pourrait vous être utile pour cette activité ?
- Explore training or experience that may be relevant.
- Qu’est-ce qui vous motive à devenir bénévole ?
- Invite the person to explain their motivation.
- Vous avez parlé d’une expérience avec des adolescents. Qu’est-ce qui vous a semblé le plus difficile ?
- Use this only after the partner has actually mentioned that experience.
Platform practice method
Change the scenario to test transfer
In the first round, let a partner invent the volunteer’s answers; those details are role-play only, not facts from the official sample. In a second round, replace the association with a community activity, language exchange or sports club and rebuild the information goals.
If changing the situation leaves you able only to repeat the same four questions, the practice is still too dependent on memory. Keep the functions instead: ask about experience, clarify a condition, understand motivation and follow up on an answer.
Before you start
